What Actually Happens in Your First Online Coaching Session?

Booking a first coaching session can feel surprisingly vulnerable. You might know that something needs to change, but not have a neat explanation for what that something is. You might even worry that you need to turn up with a five-year plan, a colour-coded goal and a brilliantly clear answer to every question.

You don't. And I promise there is no surprise motivational speech waiting for you.

WHAT WE ACTUALLY DO IN A FIRST SESSION

We start with a conversation. You can tell me what has been on your mind, what feels difficult or what you keep finding yourself stuck on. Some people arrive with a very specific goal. Others just know that they are tired of second-guessing themselves, overthinking decisions or saying yes when they mean no.

Together, we explore what's happening now, what you'd like to be different and which patterns might be keeping you in the same place. I ask questions, listen carefully and help you make sense of your answers. You remain the expert on your own life.

YOU DON'T NEED TO HAVE THE RIGHT WORDS

Sometimes the most useful starting point is simply: 'I don't really know why this feels so hard.' That's absolutely enough to begin. We can work from there at your pace.

PRACTICAL, PSYCHOLOGY-INFORMED SUPPORT

My approach through The Everyday Mind draws on my psychology background and coaching training. Depending on what you want to work on, we might look at self-talk, assumptions, confidence, boundaries, values or the gap between knowing what you want and actually doing it. Sometimes a reflective exercise or a Wheel of Life is useful; sometimes talking it through reveals the next step.

This isn't about fixing you or turning you into a completely different person. It's about understanding what's going on, noticing what is within your control and finding one manageable action that makes sense in your real life.

WHAT COACHING IS — AND WHAT IT ISN'T

Coaching is a collaborative space for reflection, goals and action. It isn't counselling or a substitute for mental-health treatment. If what you need falls outside coaching, we can talk honestly about getting the right type of support.

WHAT IF YOU DON'T WANT A BIG PROGRAMME?

You don't have to commit to an eight-week transformation before we even say hello. My one-to-one online coaching is £40 per session, and individual sessions are available without a package commitment.

THREE QUESTIONS TO ASK YOURSELF BEFORE BOOKING

1. What keeps taking up space in my head lately?

2. If our conversation were genuinely useful, what might feel a little clearer afterwards?

3. What's one area where I'd like to trust myself more?

If your answers are messy, unfinished or contradictory, you're in very good company.

READY FOR A CONVERSATION?

If you're navigating overthinking, confidence, change or that familiar feeling of being capable on the outside but full of questions underneath, I'd love to hear from you. Explore 1:1 online coaching through https://www.nurturebynaomi.com/ or visit https://linktr.ee/theeverydaymind. You can also send me a message with a few words about what you'd like support with. No pressure, and no need to have it all figured out first.
